Plate Flanges is a flange connected with container or pipe by fillet weld. Belong to arbitrary flange. During the design, according to the integrity of the connection between the flange ring and the straight cylinder section, the integral or loose flange is checked.
Compared with the neck butt welding flange, the flat welding flange has the advantages of simple structure and less material, but the stiffness and sealing performance are not as good as the neck butt welding flange. Flat welding flanges are widely used to connect medium and low pressure vessels and pipes.
