Anything with a temperature above zero (-273.15 ° c) is constantly emitting infrared energy into the surrounding space. Conversely, by measuring the infrared energy radiated by the object itself, the surface temperature of the object can be accurately measured. This is the mechanism of infrared radiation temperature measurement.
The human body, like other organisms, is emitting infrared energy to the surrounding radiation. The wavelength is generally 9-13 nm, which is in the near infrared band of 0.76-100 nm. Since the light in this wavelength range is not absorbed by the air, that is to say, the amount of infrared radiation outward from the body has nothing to do with the environmental impact, but only with the amount of energy contained and released by the body.
Therefore, as long as through the body's own radiation infrared energy measurement can accurately determine the body surface temperature. The infrared temperature sensor of human body is designed and made according to this principle.
